For the tenth year the Center for Mark Twain Studies has sponsored the “Portraying Mark Twain” art competition for all Elmira College students. Five final images were selected from twenty-five submissions that represented Mark Twain, his literature, or aspects of his life in Elmira and Quarry Farm. The winners are Jade Madill ’27, Kate Forsythe ’26, Amani Wandolo ’26, Akira Ducot ’28 and Madelynn Dziedzic ’28. Their winning entries included four digital collages that altered or combined historic images of Twain with contemporary photos. The fifth entry creatively captured “well known view from te porch with a bold, graphic watercolor rendering. Look for their images on future promotional materials for CMTS.
